Every business has six critical elements called Morphemes. Morpheme #1 is the Premise. Morpheme #2 is the Promise Morpheme #3 is Sidelines Morpheme #4 – Guidelines: internal restrictions or limitations that define how a company behaves – was introduced in PhilTake #40.
Guidelines are evident in a variety of ways: mission statements, operating procedures, employee manuals, etc. But those are often overlooked, forgotten and cast aside. The real Guidelines are exemplified, illustrated and demanded by everyone in the organization. This is not just about the CEO or the Owner. This is about every person within the organization and – just as important – the key suppliers to that organization.
It is not what is said, or posted or written. It is about what is done.
