We often hear about how business is moving at a faster pace today.
The bigger challenge for me is dealing with the fact that business never stops. (If it does, you have other issues to deal with). If I’m standing still, I’m falling behind, which is so easy to do.
When I need to catch up, what’s the first thing I do? Address today, or current items.
If I start with overdue items, I’m only exchanging the position of items and not improving the situation. Focusing on today first avoids adding more items to my past due file. It also lowers stress because today’s to-do list has been addressed.
